Hey guys!

Today’s Top Ten List is mysteries and thrillers! It’s another of my favorite genres, and I hope I can recommend you some new ones to read.

1. Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

I loved the twists in this book so much!! I did not expect the ending, which was the main thing I look for in thrillers.

With its taut, crafted writing, Sharp Objects is addictive, haunting, and unforgettable.

2. Girl Last Seen by Heather Anastasiu and Anne Greenwood Brown

I reviewed this book a while back, and my review does not do this book justice. I loved it! My favorite aspect was the fact that you didn’t know who to trust.

Synopsis:

But will she realize she’s unknowingly playing a part in an elaborate game to cover up a crime before it’s too late?”

3. The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas

Once again, my review does not do this book justice (you can read it here if you want to). It was so amazing and definitely one of my favorite myserty/thrillers of all time!

Synopsis:

The Darkest Corners is a psychological thriller about the lies little girls tell, and the deadly truths those lies become.

There are ghosts around every corner in Fayette, Pennsylvania. Tessa left when she was nine and has been trying ever since not to think about it after what happened there that last summer. Memories of things so dark will burn themselves into your mind if you let them.

4. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Sadly, this book was spoiled for me. I still loved it though, and I still appreciated the well planned plot twist, even though I knew it was coming.

Synopsis:

Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy’s diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

5. Last Seen Leaving by Caleb Roehrig

When I finish this post, I’m going to write my review of this! It was crazy good, totally twisty and unexpected.

Synopsis:

Flynn’s girlfriend has disappeared. How can he uncover her secrets without revealing his own?

6. Variant by Robison Wells

This is an old favorite of mine, it was one of the books that first got me into YA. It has some pretty crazy plot twists.

Synopsis:

7. 1-800-Where-R-U series by Meg Cabot

I loved this series so much! It’s about a girl who gets struck by lightning and gets the abilities to locate missing children. The concept is so interesting!

8. The Night She Disappeared by April Henry

I read this sometime last year and I don’t remember a ton about it, but I gave it 4-stars so I definitely liked it a lot.

Synopsis:

Gabie drives a Mini Cooper. She also works part time as a delivery girl at Pete’s Pizza. One night, Kayla—another delivery girl—goes missing. To her horror, Gabie learns that the supposed kidnapper had asked if the girl in the Mini Cooper was working that night. Gabie can’t move beyond the fact that Kayla’s fate was really meant for her, and she becomes obsessed with finding Kayla. She teams up with Drew, who also works at Pete’s. Together, they set out to prove that Kayla isn’t dead—and to find her before she is.

9. Damage Done by Amanda Panitch

While this was only a 3-star read for me, I loved the crazy ending!

Synopsis:

22 minutes separate Julia Vann’s before and after.

After: She has a new identity, a new hometown, and memories of those twenty-two minutes that refuse to come into focus. At least, that’s what she tells the police.

10. Truth or Dare by Jacqueline Green

This book is perfect for fans of Pretty Little Liars (the tv show or the books). It’s pretty similar because both have an anonymous texter blackmailing the main characters.
