Hey Wishers!
I was tagged for this book tag by the lovely Amanda of Cover2CoverMom. Her blog is amazing and she writes such great reviews!!
It’s really halfway through the year, which is totally crazy. I feel like New Year’s Eve was yesterday. So far in 2016 I have read 95 books! I’m so proud of myself; I’m only 55 books away from completing my reading goal.
I’m also going to be attending New York Comic Con this October (Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th)!! I just got my tickets a few minutes ago and I’m so freaking excited! If you guys didn’t know, this year BookCon is going to NYCC and a ton of my favorite authors (Lauren Oliver and Danielle Paige) are going to be there. Are any of you guys going, too? Let me know!
Let’s get into the tag!
Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2016
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
I can’t even put my love for this book into words. It was so cute and relatable. I loved how friendship was a really big part of this and the love aspect didn’t take over the book (I have never come across this in a Morgan Matson book, btw). I also loved Clark!! This is definitely tied with Since You’ve Been Gone for my favorite Morgan Matson book.
Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2016
Harry Potter & the Prisioner of Azkaban
I adore this book!! The world J. K. Rowling has created is so crazy-mazing and magical. Yes, I did just create my own word. This is what writing blog posts at 1 am does to me. But anyways, I loved this book. If you haven’t read HP yet (like me until the beginning of this month) then you need to pick it up soon!!
New Release You Haven’t Read Yet but Really Want To
How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather
I got a copy of this last week and I am going to read it very soon! It sounds so creepy and I’ve read some great reviews of it.
Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of 2016
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
I could name so many for this, but Heartless is definitely at the top! Ever since The Lunar Chronicles, I’ve needed more Marissa Meyer. Only four months away!
Biggest Disappointment
Shatter Me by Taherah Mafi and The Siren by Kiera Cass
I had super high expectations for both of these books: my best friend loved the first one & Kiera Cass is one of my favorite authors. Regretfully, neither met my standards. *tears*
Biggest Surprise
The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas
The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas blew me away! I did not expect any of the plot twists, which there were many of.
Favorite New Author
Robin Reul, debut author of My Kind of Crazy. This book was absolutely perfect and I need more books by Robin now!! She knows how to balance humor and sadness (I totally cried reading My Kind of Crazy).
Newest Fictional Crush
I don’t like to repeat books in tags, but Clark from The Unexpected Everything is the first person who came to my mind when I read this. He’s so sweet & I want to read more of his book ASAP!
Book That Made You Cry
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
Easy! Me Before You made me cry so hard! I know I’m not alone in this.
Book That Made You Happy
Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
Ahhh, this book was so cute!! I smiled so many times while reading this book, because it was so adorable. Sydney and Ridge = heart emoji.
Favorite Book to Film Adaptation
Sadly, none! The two book-to-movie adaptations that I saw this year were The Fifth Wave and Me Before You. Both were big disappointments. I thought the casting in Me Before You was great, but it didn’t have the same emotion that the story did.
Two Book-To-Movie adaptions that I am highly anticipated are Thirteen Reasons Why and Before I Fall. Both are going to make me bawl for sure.
Favorite Post You Have Done This Year
I had to think for a while about this. It’s a tie between The Taylor Swift Book Tag & my review of The Art of Being Normal. The TS Book Tag is one of my favorites because, DUH, Taylor Swift and books!! I was really proud of how my review of The Art of Being Normal came out. I also have a post that is going to be published at the end of the month that I am very excited for you guys to read. It’s about writing and the many struggles of it. Watch out for it August 1st!
Most Beautiful Book You Bought This Year
OMG, but I have bought so many (so many…) beautiful books this year, ahhh!! I guess I’ll have to go with…
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
With Malice by Eileen Cook
The Last Boy and Girl in the World by Siobhan Vivian
(This was a very hard decision to make.)
Books You Need to Read by the End of the Year
A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES & A COURT OF MIST AND FURY by Sarah J. Maas
WHY HAVEN’T I READ THIS YET? I don’t know. But I need to read it. Now.
For this tag I am tagging anyone who is at least halfway through their 2016 reading goal!
I hope you all like this tag! Do you agree with me on anything?
xx,
Sophie
Yes Maybe Someday!! I get all giddy every time that book is mentioned anywhere because it’s amazing and Sydney and Ridge are perfect! ❤️
Also I hope you end up loving ACOTAR and ACOMAF whenever you get around to reading them. 😄

2) I am going to try to attend BEA/BookCon for the first time this coming year 🙂
3) Harry Potter rocks my world! That is so exciting that you are getting to experience the books for the first time! Book #4 was my favorite.
4) Crazy-mazing is an awesome word. You could even shorten it to cramazing.

Thank you for your comment!! I hope to see you at BEA/BookCon, I’m so excited! I’ve never attended either, as well. As for Harry Potter, I’m about to start Book #4! I’m also going to a Cursed Child midnight party on Saturday. I’m glad you like my word😂. I should get it put in dictionaries.

Hi!!! This tag was sooo great. I loved ACOTAR but I have been a failure of a human and haven’t read ACOMAF. When I read this I was stunned bc like I have read 27 books this year and I was so proud of myself. but 95!?? CAN I BE YOU? Also, this is my not deleted account.. xx
